BIOGRAFIA.

Dream Theater é uma banda de metal progressivo originária nos Estados Unidos e formada em meados dos anos 80. Tornaram-se numa das bandas do movimento progressivo mais bem sucedidas desde o auge do rock progressivo em meados dos anos 70.
A banda é conhecida pela qualidade técnica de cada um de seus integrantes, tendo ganhado vários prêmios por revistas especializadas. São muito respeitados por grandes nomes do rock e metal, tendo colaborado com vários outros músicos de renome. Em um exemplo famoso, John Petrucci foi nomeado como o terceiro guitarrista do G3, juntamente com Steve Vai e Joe Satriani, seguindo a trilha de guitarristas como Eric Johnson, Robert Fripp e Yngwie Malmsteen.
Dream Theater também é conhecido por sua versatilidade em estilos musicais, o que tornou possível à banda entrar em turnê com diversas bandas, que incluem Frank Zappa, Deep Purple, Emerson Lake & Palmer, Iron Maiden, Joe Satriani, Marillion, Megadeth, In Flames, Pain of Salvation, Porcupine Tree, Queensrÿche, Fear Factory, Enchant, Symphony X, Pink Floyd, Yes e Rush.
When Dream And Day Unite é o primeiro álbum da banda de Metal Progressivo Dream Theater. Lançado em 1989.
A Fortune in Lies fala sobre um amigo da banda que foi preso por roubo e o que ele aprendeu com a experiência.
Ytse Jam é o antigo nome da banda, Majesty, escrito de trás para frente.
The Killing Hand é tida como a primeira canção “épica” escrita pelo Dream Theater, sendo dividida em 5 partes e contando uma história em sua letra. A história fala de um homem que acorda cercado por paredes cobertas por nomes de pessoas que já morreram, e ele volta no tempo para descobrir por que.
Afterlife é uma música que remonta à época mais antiga da banda, ainda com Chris Collins no vocal. A letra original de Chris foi re-escrita por Charles Dominici.
